Default Tire/Rim Optimum Sizes

Yes Lexburg.......I am very curious as well. I have a 1999 ES300 with the stock tires/rims on it and would like to know what rim/tire size combo would look the best (give it that "lowered" look yet be able to seat 4 passengers without the car bottoming out on bumps). Also, what brand of tires would anyone out there recommend to be the best tires for dry road traction while wearing reasonably well. I also have an Acura Integra and went from Michellin to Nitto tires which made a difference on cornering, etc. I don't know about whether Nitto would be a good candidate for the the Lexus.......any suggestions? For those who currently have an ES300 with a good tire/rim size combo, I would like to see a pic of your ride to see overall how it looks so I can decide. Thanks for everyones input in advance.

Scott.

If any of you guys are interested, I have a set of RH T10's in 18" with tires that will fit on your ES300's.

They're silver, the tires are 2 nitto 555's and 2 Toyo FZ4's...the Toyos are brand new (like 1000 miles on them) so I would put them up front and the Nittos are in EXCELLENT condition...

Here's a picture of the wheels and what they look like a 97-01 ES...they fit the older pre-97 ES's also...

$900 for everything...

Talking Tire/Rim Combo

Thanks all for all your excellent inputs. Manaray, your offer is tempting but I would rather stick with 17" rims (to me 18" rims are a bit too much) and go with the Nitto 450's all around. From crusing some of the websites, it looks as though I could put on R225X50X17's on 17X7" rims. has anybody out there run into a problem using this combination (ie: rubbing on turns, bottoming out, etc)? I am not sure how this would look on a stock height ES300. Does anyone out there have an ES300 with this rim/tire combo so I could see how it looks? In the past, I have purchased rims/tires from Discount Tires (Americas Tire) and the service/prices were excellent. I will probably be going back there again to buy my next set of tires/rims. I want chrome rims all around because I LOVE the look of a good chrome rim. Is there an adavantage of triple chroming of the rim over a standard chrome rim? What determines how long the plating will stay on the rim (wearing down or chipping)? Does anybody know the answer to this.....is it preparation before chroming or is it the chrome thickness or both?

Aany input to my above questions would be much appreciated.

Thanks again for all your help!!

Scott

Lexberg - The wheels are Silver painted (the standard finish). I'll take payments but I won't send the wheels until they're paid for. I'm in Los Angeles...I'll hold on to them as until someone buys 'em... Let me know via PM...

Talking Stock Rims for Sale

Hey Folks,

I have a set of 4 stock tires & rims for sale. They are from a 1999 Lexus ES300 "Coach Edition". The tires are the stock Bridgestone RE88's on stock 15" Rims and have only 14 K miles on them. The rims are in mint condition. The reason for selling them is that I just put on Enkei Etoria 17" rims on Nitto NT450's (225 X 50 X 17) and had kept the original tires/rims to sell. My asking price for all 4 is 600 dollars. If anyone is interested, please reply to this e-mail.

Thanks,

Scott

Smile Rims & Tires for Sale

Hey Lexburg,

Unfortunately I do not but I can see about loading some film in my camera, taking some shots and scanning them & then I will attach them in a PM to you. It may take some time though. These rims are of a unique 5-star design featured only on the Coach Edition Lexi's. As I stated above, they are in pristine condition due to the car being garaged primarily for the last couple of years.

If you are seriously interested in buying, how will we arrange it?
It looks as though you live in another state. I live in the Southern California area.

Please let me know if you are still interested and I will get a pic posted.

Thanks,

Scott.
