Current Best Deal on Coilovers?
Hi,
It looks like ill have to purchase some coilovers this year for my 1997 ES300.
I was just wondering what is the best deal anyone has come across lately. (Student budget lol)
Thanks,
slevytam

Just don't buy coilover sleeves. <cough $25-sub-500 coilovers> If you don't know. The spring rates are so high that you could legally qualify for a few NASCAR events, along with the fact that no direct aftermarket struts are known to be strong enough to not blow out in a month->few months.
A McPherson setups is a McPherson setup. You can swap springs / struts from other cars with minor modification. Most "compact" domestic & about all Japanese cars use springs + struts in a McPherson setup.
Eventually, somebody is going to buy some of those low/medium end real Honda/DSM/Nissan coilovers off ebay for $500 & do modifications for those to fit. There's already been one Camry using aftermarket springs off a Saturn...
Why don't you learn to fab & weld, and be the first! LoL!!!

Hi,
I have been told the same about coilover sleeves. I was thinking if anything to try some lowering springs before the full coilover option... but my shocks are 9 years old and probably going as well...
