76 Gas only 89 octane.......????
HEy all been a long time since I last posted. New user name too.
Here is the thing, my 97 ES will only run correctly if I use 76 gas 89 octane or higher. If I use anything else no matter the octane,I will start to stall or is very hard to start. If I use any other gas it will also after a cold start not idle. I have to drive with my foot on the brake and gas at the same time until I can get the ES up speed. It has to change gears at least twice before it will hold idle, after that it's fine until I have to re-start it. Again this is only with any gas other than 76.
The only thing I can say thats different in 76 fuel is it has ethanol in it.
Any ideas???

I'd probably try and figure out what is wrong with your car that you can only use one brand of gas. I know there is differences in gas brands and the addittives they put in, but I've use many different brands before and never once was the car nearly undrivable as you describe.
