I was driving in the left lane on the LIE the other day and a metal chunk from someone else's car got kicked up and slammed into my bumper, cutting deep gouges across the front of it, making it look like I got into an accident or something. Since the bumper cover isn't just scratched but dug up, I was thinking the best way to get it back to new looking condition would be to replace the cover with a new one. I have a 97 ES and I figured if I was going to do this, I might as well put on an 00-01 cover. My question is:
-Has anyone with a 97-99 put on a 00-01 bumper with any success? (Yeah I know I'll need to get different fog lights)
-Also, how much can I expect to pay to get the bumper cover painted (And will it match well with the rest of my car?

vin 78 is the only one I know who upgraded the front bumper on his '97 ES to that from a '00-'01. Lots of pics of the bumper job found in the following thread. You can send him a PM for price estimates.
