you could just bypass the amp. at that point get a good multichannel amp and you are set.

Actually For the 92-96 Es300 it isnt too complicated to wire into the stock amp using an adapter. Crutchfield.com where i purchases my headunit told me to buy this adapter http://www.crutchfield.com/S-x5TXWgJ....asp?I=127OEM2
It comes with directions to wire it in. You can also find a stereo dash kit on ebay for around 20 bucks shipped so it will fit in place of the stock unit

Thats me out,

papachino was good enough to take out his head unit to check his colour codes for me but
unfortunatly I'm out of luck there.

He has gone to the trouble of putting them all on my post so if anyone is in need they are all listed here:- https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=205843

Oh well, Of to the audio techie I go.

Cheers all for your input.

Cool

The wiring for the 92-94 has been done on this forum. Normally I'd tell you to find it, but in all honesty the two/three posts containing information about it are *very* hard to dig out for some reason.
Download the FSM for a '93, and see the Body Electrical section.

There is nothing special about wiring in a headunit. You don't even use half the wires on the existing harness if you are re-using the stock wiring. Once the speakers are wired in, take the passenger seat out, dig up the AMP & bypass it. Either by shoving wire into the end of the harness, or cut the harness off & join the wires permanently.

There is *nothing* complicated, hard, or otherwise special to wiring in a head unit. Any village idiot with a diagram can do it. The *only* caveat is that the stock ES ant. is two position. Without the stock radio you only get one position.

my alpine raises and lowers the antennae so did my pioneer unit. What 2 positions are you referring to with the stock radio?

I was wondering hte same thing, I took off becuase it broke, and If I was going to replace I would want to lower and raise it. I don't think that my Alpine would do it unless I find the proper wiring. This was a concern because I plan on replacing my antenna soon or just bondo the hole for a smooth look, but the Lexus antennas retract pretty good as they are.

search on Ebay. that's where i got mine.. but make sure you wire the GROUND wire elsewhere.. cuz the generater will cost the head unit to make some engine sound.
