Default My ES pictures from the Chicago show

Well here's what I have from the show, frankly it was hard to get good shots with all the people waiting to sit in this car.

They had (1) blue oynx, (2) tungsten pearl and the debut car in royal ruby metallic.

I did get a handout brochure which gives the color and interior combos but nothing else. Surprisingly amber pearl as shown in the media shots is available with black leather...... In fact every color is availble with black leather except for golden almond (light tan) and blue oynx.

My impressions of the car?
Very pretty inside and out, I really liked the look but....... Head room is really poor, especially in the back. I'm of average height and weight (5' 11") and I felt cramped in this car. I'm sorry to say that I can't justify this car for my needs because of the lack of interior room. I always thought the current gen ES had a roomy feel to it, but not this new generation.

Avalon Touring anyone?

Oh yea, it's a very nice looking car! The ruby metallic car looked the best but it also had the best lighting. I really like the car, the interior is excellent but as I said the headroom really turned me off, especially in the rear. I sat in each seat and the driver's seat is the best. I think they screwed up by lowering the roof line for that sport coupe look.

The plastic covers they have in the engine compartment are a bit flimsy, if I had this car I'd take those damned things right off. The little clips that hold those covers aren't too strong either.

The trunk had ample room

The dash and the center stack was very nice, everything was easy to see and get to.

As everyone noticed in the photos...the shifter seemed a bit high, but then they took the handle off so it's hard to say for certain.

Looking at the Camry it just kinda lays there, nothing special about it, but the ES really stands out, it fit right in with the other L-finesse cars.

Not LEDs, sorry.

Judging from the pamphlet it's a blue / green color, it is lighter than blue onyx. It appears to have a bit of fleck in it. aquamarine is available with all (3) interior colors.

Very nice looking car.. When i looked at the side picture i can see the resemblance of the previous couple of years in this model...Like for example it seems that lexus adapted some of the body lines from the 02+ models into this model... The ES has come along way...

It's certainly much easier to work on without all those covers in there......if it were my car that crap would be on the shelf.

I'm sure it's just there for sound dampening.
