mass airflow sensor covered in emissions or powertrain warranty?
hi checked the code and got p0171 which seems to be mass airflow sensor for most ppl. will the emission warranty or powertrain warranty cover this, car has 65k and 4 mos of powertrain and more emissions warranty left.

It's covered under the powertrain. it is an engine part, not an emessions one.
It's not common for them to be bad, tho like anything a few fail. Sometimes they can get oily & dirty. A simple q-tip & rubbing alcohol will solve that.
I think you need to fix the common causes, like:
#1 checking for vacuum leaks
#2 check/replace main o2 sensor<s>

Download the 2001 FSM.
A vacuum leak can be anywhere on the intake tract of the engine. Normally it's simply a disconnected, or split hose.
There is a main sensor on each exhaust manifold, and a sensor after the cat convertor. You're looking at the main sensors.
