Default Do I really need CPO for a 02' ES300

Hi guys:
I'm considering a used 2002 ES300 lexus, 30k. The dealer strongly recommended the CPO program, which costs around $1500 ($25k without CPO. 26.5k with CPO). Do you think I really need the CPO. I checked it online and find only 25% people choose CPO. This program sounds like a too luxury for common people, is that correct?
Thanks!!!

Rich Old Ladies don't have fianacing programs, LOL.

To answer the thread, CPO is a benefit to have but if you don't see the value in it, than don't get it.

I think getting or not getting cpo should be based on your on personal driving needs. Assuming the car's in good shape, if you drive low miles you may want to pass on it. But if you drive high miles, cpo is something to consider. The cpo will cover you for 3 yrs or up to 100k miles. But whatever you do, make sure the dealer has performed the 30K service (ask to see the service records), puts new tires on the car, and performs an alignment.

lexus might be super reliable, however it's still pre-owned... definitly recommend CPO... ask for a little discount on CPO $300 to $500 off, they should do something for you if you have good relationship ...
