Sunroof Rattle
Hey everyone, after a few months of pure annoyance, i finally figured out that it was my sunroof that was doing all the rattling over every crease in the road. I remembered that i saw a write-up on fixing that rattle in the sunroof a few months ago, but i just cant seem to find it. any ideas anyone? or does anyone know where that write up is?

I get the same thing on my car mainly when I just crack open the tilt and close it, then ride through some ruff terrain. I have learned to slide it open then close it to lesson the rattle. So I’m with you on that one element51, bring on that write up!!

Sunroof gasket
Another trick is to apply vaseline on the gasket around the sunroof. They shrink with sun and age. The vaseline sometimes (not always) will soften the foam rubber and make it expand, thereby causing a tighter seal. This may eliminate any rattle you have. Just my 2cents.

The gasket is designed to leak. That's why there is a lip, and channel for water to flow down into the 4 drains. It doesn't matter what the rubber gasket does.
element51 There wasn't anything in the FSMabout Window Adjustments - so there must not be any. There is about adjusting/replacing the sunroof.

I know this is an old thread, but thought I would resurrect it to see if anyone found a solution.
I have an 05 330. My sunroof rattles all the time. I close the visor and it lessens the noise. It is still there though. I can open the visor and push up on the closed sunroof and it stops. Does anyone have any suggestions?
