Cool

I would assume that you can do the 1/3 in the intake, drive it around until the smoke is gone and everything is back to normal, and then put another third in the intake and do it again?

Would this result in a deeper cleaning? Or would it just be a waste of time?
That's exactly what you want to do!

Great Tip about the seafoam, had one problem with it though, I think people, esp first timers should opt for using a smaller vaccum line instead of the break booster b/c that is a huge vaccum line that can suck up a lot of liquid extremly fast, and considering that the pistons are supposted to combust air not liquid, even though small amounts will not hurt it, I think people should find a smaller vaccum line to use to avoid any chance of hydrolocking the engine.......just a thought, great thread but could be potentially dangerous for first timers to be trusted with that big of a vaccum line....gotta break em in with a smaller one......haha

Thanks again Pheonix for the Great advice and write up on how to Seafoam. I just did my 2nd 1/3 pint through the brake booster line as recommended no problem, just eyeballed 1/3 into a smaller cup to allow the Seafoam to be vacuumed.
I'll probably finish off the bottle tonight but so far so good.
Didn't quite smoke as much the 2nd time around, can't really say I notice a improvement, but if its cleaning it then
my ES has 112k
Oh and I added 1 bottle to the gas this morning

And to Pheonix, if I add a bottle to the engine oil before my change, should I still use that same old oil that I drain out to send to get analyzed (Oil Analysis) ? or should I drain some before I add the seafoam? will there be a difference?

Cool

Again...
Measure out the amout of liquid that you are going to use, then drop the hose in it to suck it up. Don't drop the hose in the full Pint can. You want the maximum amount of liquid, in the shortest amount of time. The brake booster provides that, and is a large, flexable hole which is the easyest to use.
Maxx941 get the sample before you use it. AFA changing the oil... Just use whatever oil you like.

Mobil1 Synthetic owns. 5 quart jugs for $18 at Walmart.
It's hard to find better oil & the few out there that are... Well you can't buy them from Walmart for $18 LoL!

well its sunday and i was bored so i decided to check this stuff out. Special note. After you let the engine vacuum up the 1/2 can of seafoam and the car dies...let it sit for a while. i tried to start it at the 5 minute mark and it wouldnt start. kinda scared me.....but i let it sit for another 5 minutes and i was able to get it going. if i had more time i probably would have done another treatment...but then it started snowing. anyways DO THIS! its the best money you can spend if you car has any kind of mileage.

thanks pheonix for the diy.

I am about to try Seafoam for my transmission, I have been having weird shifts (5,000 rpm to get out of first), but then at times it would be normal. So I think there is sludge in the tranny parts and I am going to flush my engine. I will let you know of results if any luck.

I got a '97 Rodeo LS 4x4 (3.2 V6 24v dohc)... I think SeaFoam needs to be used! Same protocol as this one mentioned before, correct?

Cool

This is a 1996 5s-fe Toyota Camry with 114,000 miles. This is after ONE treatement done in the manner I outlined in my previous post. (I.E. following the directions on the can) On old oil right before changing it.
This engine spent about the first 100,000 miles of it's life running cheapy oils. The last 14,000 miles run on synthetic.

$5 a can - $2.50 of the product used = Results.
