Also, throw some in your washer fluid bottle then spray it all out sitting there with your finger on the jets. It'll clear out clogged jets and will clean up any deposits inside your windshield washer system

Nah, I'm being totally serious. It works, good for dissolving wax buildup that you may inadvertantly get if you wax the car and wipe over the nozzles, also good if you have gummed up washer hoses and nozzles from the guy who owned the car before you and thought it was cute to use some kind of goopy home brew in his washer tank

Red face

I did seafoam today . I filled the tank and added 2 and a half can . Then I seafoamed the intake through the break booster tube . Every thing went as expected ( mentioned in How to : seafoam).

Only thing which was not expected was the Check engine light came on . So I disconneted the battery cables and waited for a miniut before connecting . Every thing is back on line now .

RESULT : I did not feel any difference may be my engine already runs smooth . I checked the spark plugs they were clean so no need to clean them after seafoaming ( it has been mention previously ) .

Cool

Do it again. Put another in the intake & the other half in the oil whenever you're gonna get around to changing it.

I did second time ( intake ) . Today I see the result . Today my engine is quiter . It did clean something , mostlike carbon . When I took out my plugs which I installed 5 months back , They look new , The white ( ceromic in the center ) part looked whiter . There was no any single black spot on the plugs.. So it means it must have cleaned the chamber too . Its good to know about seafoam.

This time Chk engine light did not come .

Thx Pheonix.

Has anyone ever experienced any problems using seafoam? I put a half a bottle through a tank of gas and now my car idles like crap and throws codes (13, 24, 28). It sounds like an injector is out, and I'm wondering if it didn't disolve something in the fuel tank and cause it to clog up one or more of my injectors.

Oh well, I guess I have to pull them now and send them out to get flow/sonic cleaned.

Pop the hood.
On the back of the engine bay, driver's side, right where the steering column comes out of the pass. compartment.

The brake booster/master cylinder is a big black circular sort of cylindrical thing. There is a vacuum hose the thickness of your ring finger coming out of the front of it and curving up towards the passenger side of the engine compartment. That's what you need to unhook and suck up through.

Seafoam is definately great stuff! Just out of curiosity, is Seafoam a bit too weak to pour into the gas tank? I've never tried using it that way, but rather removed the PCV and allowed the engine to suck it all up, keeping the RPMs up.

No it's not to weak. Most fuel system cleaners don't do much on these types of fuel systems. They're very well filtered.
To clean the combustion chambers, you need a lot of cleaner, at one time. Not cleaner spread out over a few hours of run time!

When you put it in the oil, how long do you leave it there? ETC.... Can someone post details of how to do that part please?

Nice writeup!

I would assume that you can do the 1/3 in the intake, drive it around until the smoke is gone and everything is back to normal, and then put another third in the intake and do it again?

Would this result in a deeper cleaning? Or would it just be a waste of time?

Sounds like "fear and loathing in the garage" to me!
