Wow a lot of input for this post, huh
I think they look good even if they are "played out", its not like you see them everyday on cars and especially on ES300.

Well the whole idea behind the owner of that ES with the lambo doors is to make it a show car, and in order to compete in these kinds of car shows, it's more advantageous to push the envelope. Played out or not, the lambo door mod is one expensive but showy mod that appeals to all at any given car show

There are a lot of things that come to mind that can be considered 'played out' since a lot of people have them but they're not because they're considered stylish. I think the lambo setup is quite unique. Things like... l-tuned body parts... tte lips... roof spoilers...

I see so many more people doing those mods than the lambo doors. Kinda makes you wonder what people consider "played out hardcore", huh?

c.

if youve been in the show scene for a while, youd know that people have been doing lambo door conversions on their cars as early as 1998-1999

i dont know about arizona, but here in texas and many other cities, they have been done to death.. and many consider it to be a "ricey" mod because people do them with cheap homemade brackets and not gas shocks like they are suppossed to

rims are a different thing, you cant generalize on one part being played out.. its like saying body kits are played out. maybe one style of kit is played out, but not kits in general... kind of like motegi mr7s.. which are a knockoff of a knockoff of a knockoff... that style, even if you have the original advan wheel, has still been done to death

its all my opinion.. which it should be taken just as that - an opinion. you can do it if you like, im not here to stop anyone, in the end it is your wasted money.

edit: i forgot to add that the brackets usually used for these conversions break all the time. ive seen peoples doors fall off at shows, ive seen them sway in the wind at outdoor carshows and break off as well. if you think theyre so "sweet", i suggest you install them and see how "sweet" they really are once you encounter problems.

As for the rotors being painted, I think he was just trying to get the rotor hats coated. When I did mine on my 96, I masked the car (and the portion of the rotor hat that contacts the wheel/lugs), and sprayed away, and it looked like in did in that pic. Driving the car 10 feet burnt the overspray off the swept area of the rotor, leaving me with a nicely silver painted, rust-resistant rotor hat.
