Sure. You need to take a flathead and pop the woodgrain out. The best place would be in the dip underneath the end of the emergency brake. Just stick in the flathead and lift directly up.

Slip a thin flat bladed screwdriver under the edge near a corner and slowly pry it up. Work from one corner to another and soon you will have it pried loose and can just take it out.

Is this for 96 and b4 ES? Or does it apply to all ES or all Lexus?

Just want to let you know i got it now. Took me like 2 hours but i got it done. Even though it was just a minor fix it was worth the time to have a normal cup holder. You have to put the foil part in a certain way which messed me up. Thanks to all.

Yea that was my problem. I was like does it come from the bottom or over the top. I looked at the pic closely and it was from the bottom so i tried it and it worked.

Didn't even take me 30 min. Figuring out how the copper piece fits back in is tricky though. Thank you!!!

Thanks for the write up and pictorial. Same thing kinda happened to me but the part that broke was the part that holds the cup underneath the cup when you place a cup into the cup holder.

What I did was I went to a pick-n-pull place which are located all over northern California and they have some really good stuff there. I paid $2 to get in and found an old banged up ES 300 and took apart the cupholder and just got the little part I needed and I saved a lot of money and it was fun searching for it and extracting the part from another car. Oh yeah I also was able to find another ES as well so I have a back up for next time it breaks. I'm sure a brand new cupholder unit from Lexus will cost a pretty penny and then some...

My cupholder won't pop from the ashtray after the screws were removed, any suggestions?

Scratch that. I got it apart and fixed. I had to pry it off on the spots where the screws were. Thanks for the write up Lexbox, it works perfectly again!

Anybody have a 97' es300 that has the cupholder ejecting from the armrest? The spring on the passenger's side holder came loose and the handle doesn't hold any more. Now I can only ride with one cup holder. =(
