Talking Got the ES back

After about 3 grueling weeks of going through insurance (mine and the other driver's) and my body shop from the Lexus dealership, I finally got my baby back today. The shop did an excellent job fitting the pieces together, and the paint looks flawless and matches well with the rest of the paint (for black in general, it's pretty much a no-brainer)

What my car looked like from the accident:

Here's a list of what's replaced in my '01 ES:

- Front bumper, newly painted (forgot to ask beforehand to not drill holes for the front plate, but oh well)
- Plastic splash guard under front bumper (w/ clips)
- Front bumper impact cushion
- Pass. headlamp (looks so crystal clear compared to the driver side)
- Pass. corner lamp
- Pass. front fender, brace and moulding (newly painted and pinstripe)
- Right front wheel (16" OEM '02-'03 ES wheel)
- All suspension parts (strut, ball joint) from front pass. side
- Horn assy
- Windshield fluid reservoir

Along with other numerous repairs and alignments, the total cost for the job was around $4,870. Since this was a no-fault accident caused by the other driver, her insurance is paying for the entire bill, as well as the car rental. So I'm paying zilch through this ordeal, and my premium rates stay unaffected

Another nice thing about it is that this repair has reduced the number of existing door dings down to 2 (there were some from the old front fender), the old plastic wheel well shield had a couple missing screws, and the old front bumper felt rough to the touch and had a curb scrape. Hmmm, maybe I should think about putting a clear bra for my ES now..

I'll put up some new pics of my ES tomorrow. Just glad to have my car back, safe and sound

Cool

Glad your ES is back Doug (hopefully it's the same as it was before the accident). Did they use only Lexus parts to do the repairs or was the insurance company insisting on aftermarket?

My car was struck whie in park in front of my house and Im glad I stopped by the shop to check on the repairs. They had a bumper with the license plate holes they were about to put on. I said hell no, the previous bumper didnt have them and neither will my new one. They had to get it remanufactured at their expense since they didnt do something right on the insurance. Im not picky, just particular.

Talking New pics!

The like-new ES at night

Check out how crystal clear the new headlamp is when lit up.

BTW, I'm running Sylvania Silverstars, not HIDs, in my ES (and stock fogs as well).

The body shop works concurrently with my dealership, so they always use OEM factory Lexus parts. They're one of the best in the business, and the paint looks so flawless, you don't notice any orange peel or other nuances

Overall, I'm satisfied with the outcome, and I'm glad to be back on the road again.

You gonna replace the left headlight assembly or try ot shine the older one up?
