The same scenario is happening to the headlights in my wife's '98 Corolla. I could be wrong but I think it has to do with the aging of the plastic material in those headlights. I tried a mixture of applicants such as Meguiar's Scratch-X and 3M Plastic Polish, but the yellowing keeps coming back after a couple of weeks

That stuff was originally called mirror glaze by Meguiars.
It is used on acrylic airplane windshields. It comes in different coarsenesses.
Start with #17 then finish with #10. I used it on my 97 ES300 I picked up in Orlando.
The covers were real foggy and they cleared up nice with the antique can I have in my hangar.
Call a local airport maintenance shop and ask if they will sell an ounce or so, they'll probably give it to you.
Here's a pic of both of my daily drivers: lex

I've applied a film of dashboard shine / UV protectent after the PlastiX. I will see if this will help

Wow! I use Megular's products on my 1996 Lexus es300. I will try this for sure. My headlights are yellow & seem to have a film on them.

Good results, but if you want even better results check this out. I have done this process on two cars and both had excellent results (BMW 328i & Lexus ES300). Will post a pick of the ES300 Headlights
