O2 sensor went bad
flexpipe broke
intake tract from airbox to TB cracked real bad
speedo and tach needles dont work at all
oil leak at valvecover

I think thats about it. The flex pipe was probably due to a small wreck though.

Bad O2s and broken flex pipes are common on Toyotas

hmm let see....

93 es300 manual tranny 82k miles

Need to fix:
Low Idle at 500rpm (maybe dirty IAC?)
Control Arm Bushings torn(Replaced one side, need to do the other ASAP)
my pirelli tires wore out due to control arm bushings
Oil Leak on passenger side (im guessing its the rear main seal since i already did valve cover gaskets)
FM Radio works intermittenly.
Clutch Pressure plate springs are bad causing a weird clutch feel
Leather Seats are Cracked.
Overheated 2 times recently.
Squeaks and rattles.
Motor mounts getting old.
Adjust Ebrake
Power windows abnormally slow.
Gas Gauge needle out.

What I fixed so far:
valve cover gaskets replaced.
Control arm bushing on one side.
Replaced all 6 fuel injectors(only one went bad, I just replaced all 6)
Replaced Distributor Cap Rotor and plug wires.
OEM Intake Tube Cracked (Bought a custom CAI)
Fixed wind leak on driver side window.
Broken power antenna (converted to s2000 antenna)
and a bunch of other stuff i can't think of right now.

btw, my car only got 82k miles. I love my car despite all these problems.

Default door lock failure

2nd day after I bought my 93 es300 the drivers door lock jammed and no entry not even with the key... I had to suck it up and take it to the dealer (toyota) 600.00 bucks later OUCH! and minimal damage to the inner window rubber scraper on my door panel... pretty funny to see a big guy like me have to climb over from the passenger side... 2 weeks later the tank on the radiator cracked grrrrrr... What the hell at 150,00 what do ya expect right? Also I am about to partake in Lexcan's needle fix... (waiting for UPS) However the love affair with this car will continue...

I have fixed so much on my LEXUS ES 300. It's a 1995 and looks great externally and internally but this car has so many problems. After reading all these issues other have had with their Lexus, I feel like I'M NOT ALONE. I mostly recently had my pan/filter beneath my oil pan clean because my red oil pressure warning light was on... that was $230. I can go on and on but I've already read through and everyone in this forum has named just about everything that I've had to replace or fix on my car. I haven't heard anyone mention the RED oil pressure warning light so I thougt I would add.

It'd be nice if everyone can post their car model/year before their problems. I mean, if its a 92 and you have a list of problems, it doesnt mean Lexus is bad, its a frickin 15 year old car!

I have a 2002 ES300, so far not one problem, except for that tranny hesitation that doesnt bother me much once in a while...

LEXUS UP!

yeah there are a ton of little issues but that is what happens to cars with high mileage. go buy a ford and it will come out of the box with half of these problems. anyways i drive a 2000 with 62k miles and there are no real problems with it except the tranny is REALLY slow when shifting. sometimes in hard acceleration i think it slips because the car hesitates as if shifting only the rpms dont change so i dont think it really is.

still running like day 1 besides the tranny

My other car is a 1986 BMW with 225,000 miles on the odometer.

And, it has had far fewer problems than my Lexus with 38,000 miles.

Are there any 21 year old Lexi out there with more than 200.000 miles?

Probably not since Lexus didn't debut until 1989.

Overall very reliable! But it doesn't like to down shift to first gear. The downshift can be abrupt. I try to avoid the downshift as much as a can.

Dude you have a GX470. When you come back next year and make post #3 go over there. You tow a 2 horse trailer with it over loaded, and ***** about problems that you have *no clue* where they could possibly stemming from; give me a ****ing break.

Why go through the effort of signing up here just to complain about your Lexus? Its made to go offroad not struggle to pull a fully loaded 2 horse trailer.
