97Es300 radio antenna broken
I have a 97 es300 and the Antenna is built into the back window. The radio works, but the signal isnt as good as before, esp for AM. How can i fix it and why is it broken?

Rear window antennas are never as good as the rod type for both AM & FM signals. I was disappointed with the reception on my '03ES with a rear window antenna as compared to my '94ES with a rod type. I spoke to Lexus about that and I was told that nothing can be done to restore the lacking signal strength. Booster amplifiers don't help either, 'cause they boost the noise along with the signal.
That's what you call technology. ha

Awww, that sucks. Well, when the car is under something, like the fwy bridge, A.M. is completely gone, but when it not under it anymore, it comes back. Same as FM. The rear antenna doesnt have any damages or havnt been touched.

Has it always been like this when you first bought it? alot of your antenna problems could be coming from as simple as a loose connection from your reciever.

My dad got the car brand new in 97. Been driving it for about 7 years and it just happened a few months or a year or so ago. It was it perfect condition back then. Weird.
