Cool

I dont have pics but you cant miss it; its the 14mm bolt at the bottom of the oil pan.

Hey Lexusk8, I know this synthetic VS. non-synthetic debate was kinda old but if it makes you feel better, I got my ES 3 years ago with 58K on the clock. First oil change was Castrol Syntec and will use it the rest of the cars life. She now has 100K and is bone dry under the hood. I really dont think switching to synthetic oil will cause problems if the engine has had regular oil maintenance, which by reading your posts I can tell you perform all maintenance on time. I know my mileage is kind of low but its been said that time, not mileage will deteriorate gaskets. Well my valve cover gaskets and rear main seal are 17 years old and leak-free

Hey guys, going to do an oil & filter change on my 92 Windom... Is a bottle jack which will raise the car by 32cm going to be enough height raised? (i've got stands, but they are only as helpful as high as the jack can go...)

You can do an oil change with the car on the ground, so that should be sufficient.

You can change the oil on the ground, but I found it easier if you have ramps. This way you drive up the front wheels up on the ramps and you have plenty of clearance to put an oil drain pan underneath, and also room to remove the drain plug.

Understand the lack of photos, sounds as if you would have burnt/drowned the camera during the DIY session. Maybe next time?

A large cat litter pan works well also. It'll only set you back roughly $3 from Walmart(devil's playground).

If you were able to collect old oil in a 3 qt container you have a problem. I suggest you check oil level every 500 miles until you have confidence you are not burning/losing too much oil.
