Question Seat heater 97

Ok, yea I know there has been a thread about seat heaters before. I searched for it. But My problem is a lil different. My passenger side works , but my driver side seat heater gave up. The switch lights up (orange ) hinting that is on. and the fuse under the dash (seat htr 20amps) . So the fuse is fine. some one mentioned something about a heating coil??? does that ring a bell to anyone? ....well any help would be appreciated to my *** and me, its gettin cold out there.

I'm right there with you.
My '97 ES300 has heated seats and the driver side seat heater
burned out at the end of last winter.
Getting the heating elements replaced next week.
Was told there were two in there.
Will cost about $600.

I've been hearing handful of stories of heated seats failures, especially in the '97 ES (the first year model with a redone leather trim and seat heater controls). $600 to replace the heating elements in the driver's seat alone sounds outrageous, almost just as much as a 60K service. Can't you get the dealer to trim down the price tag?

Got the two heating elements for the driver seat replaced yesterday in my '97 ES 300.
I had this done at an independent shop.
Labor was $190 and total cost was $530.
This shop specializes in import cars and they work on a lot
of very expensive vehicles and do great work.
I have my Porsche serviced there too.
Have you checked with the dealer Playboy13 to see what they would charge?
