Things you wish you knew about your ES from Day 1
Hi all,
Curious what you all found out about your car later down the road that would have been nice to know day 1. I just recently got mine and still fiddling around with settings and stuff got me wondering if there are any "hidden" tricks or Pro tips that anyone would be willing to share.
Did a quick search and didn't see anything pop up. If this is a duplicate, apologies and mods please lock it up.

It defaults to the GPS - Navigation screen for most models.
Those lights on the roof can be turned on just by waving your hand close to them. (Yes, I should have read the manual)

Huh?!! I have to try that.
I'm just now figuring out all the infotainment. Have a CD, USB and Sirus all ready to go at a moments notice. Recently learned- side mirrors tilt in reverse. Also the up/down arrows between Menu and Nav scroll through the Sirus stations. Found that by accident. I know there is a ton of stuff I still don't know but this weekend will do a manual overview and try and find some more. (Like the "wiper heater")

Nice. I had no idea. I have the non nav version so mine loads to whatever I was using last (usually Bluetooth audio)

My 2013 and 2015 screens, Nav and ML, start at where I left off. There may be a way to set that in the menus.

Mine stays on the previous screen when I startup as well. I always use Bluetooth radio streaming.. When I leave it on the split screen then at next startup the navigation screen will be there by default.

I wish i had known how much more comfortable the seats were in the ES than the GS- I had a little "buyers remorse" thinking I might have wanted a GS until I drove one...... I'm happy now!

The feature that they are talking about is one that was introduced with the 2016 ES refresh. The dome and reading lights for the 2013-2015 ES do not turn on that way.

I have a 2016 and they do not come on with a wave of the hand. You barely have to touch the lights and they will illuminate but do not come on until there is physical contact.
