Default Trunk should be locked?

On my 2015 ES350 it seems that when I have my car locked and the key inside my home I can still walk up to the trunk and push the button (located under the trunk lip) and the trunk will open. I would think this should not be possible with both the doors locked and the key inside the house. Any ideas? Thanks.

Default

In the manual for the 2017 ES, it says that there is a personalized setting that allows you to choose between having the trunk lock when the car's doors are locked or, alternatively, to not have the trunk lock when the car's doors are locked. The default is to have the trunk lock when the doors are locked. The setting is explained on page 543 of the 2017 ES manual. I'm not sure whether the same personalized setting applies to the 2015 ES, but, if it does, it would be explained in the manual with other personalized settings. The page number is likely different than it is in my 2017 manual.

That particular personalized setting is listed as one of the ones that can only changed by the dealer. Again, I don't know if the same setting applies to the 2015, but, if it does and if it was ever changed from the default, that could be the reason why the trunk is remaining unlocked even when the doors are locked.
