Squeaking sound when adjusting steering wheel.
Hi,
On my 2013 es350 sometimes the steering wheel makes this annoying squeaking sound whenever its adjusting itself. For example when retracting back towards the dash or when you adjust the steering wheel up or down. I also noticed that it always happens whenever the car interior is hot, when the car has been sitting out in the parking lot for example. Below are some videos I took when it happens. Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks.

Yeah it does go away after i move it back and forth, but the next day the noise will appear again. I'm not sure as to what it is, it doesn't look to be from the fabric but maybe from the motor itself? I'm worried it may become a more serious issue later on. Also since its been cold lately in TX it hasn't happened recently.

Look underneath to find a way to spray some oil or something.

Is there any way to stopping the steering wheel from moving every single time I turn the car on and off?
I disabled the drivers seat from doing this but cant seem to find where to change the settings for the steering wheel.
I guess I could try the manual but figured I'd ask here first.
Was going to search but this thread came up.

I have this issue too. I called the dealer and they mentioned that it might be the motor starting to go in the steering wheel. They told me it's not a major thing and to mention it next time I come in for service.
It only happens after the car is idle for a few hours and even then it happens periodically.

I had this issue. It was still under the CPO warranty so the dealer fix it by lubricating it. Exactly what they did I do not know but clearly it was associated with the mechanism that move the column in and out.
On the same topic, my 2013 retracts every time I shut the car off. I'd like to disable this but there does not appear to be a menu for it.

I should also point out there are actually three settings. Full, partial or off. I kind of like the partial setting.
