How do I boost the bass on ES 350
I have a 2013 Lexus ES 350 and would like to know how I can boost the bass more than what the interface allows (-5 to +5). I have the bass setting on +5 and it is still not loud enough. I need to have an equalizer bass boost app on my phone while playing over Bluetooth just to have the bass I want. Is there a way to add a bass controller or somehow bypass the the interface bass controller and increase the bass? I know the speakers can handle it, it is just that the car interface settings wont let me.

Your best bet is to have an amplifier wired into your stereo system, add a subwoofer, and remove the stock free-air subwoofer from the rear deck. The stock system will not be able to handle the increased bass very well.

you'd be crazy to mess with the OEM audio system on a newer Lexus IMO. the bang per buck is not there and you will hurt the clean OEM look and specially tuned sound and value of your car IMO. maybe consider upgrading to the ML on your next car purchase. good luck.

Never heard the sound quality of the non ML system but I can say I've been pretty disappointed with my 2013s' ML bass response. I'm not exactly a bass head but I'm skeptical even a ML system would be much of an 'upgrade', especially when compared to a well executed aftermarket system.

Keleka, you might be interested in this excellent thread by Ratchey where he is doing a complete aftermarket system:

Ratchey's thread is awesome, the mods should make it a sticky. I'm surprised the non-ML audio system has a sub because bass notes seem to come from the door speakers. I can feel the door panels vibrating when I've got some thumping bass going.

I agree, awesome thread. Not something I'm going to attempt, but I enjoy following along!
