Sounds like you're trying to use Siri to make calls. Holding the off hook button activates Siri Eyes Free. Check several locations on your phone to make sure Siri is activated. Updates have been known to turn off certain features.
Such as:
Settings>Siri>Access on Lock Screen
Settings>Siri>Touch ID & Pascode>Allow Access when Locked
Also if you have text messages coming through it probably turned that off as well.
Settings>Bluetooth>Lexus ES> click on the circled "i" and make sure "Show Notifications" is turned on.
Also also you can use the car's voice command system (the talking face button) to call Mom.
Such as:
Settings>Siri>Access on Lock Screen
Settings>Siri>Touch ID & Pascode>Allow Access when Locked
Also if you have text messages coming through it probably turned that off as well.
Settings>Bluetooth>Lexus ES> click on the circled "i" and make sure "Show Notifications" is turned on.
