That is a easy way but not the easiest. The easiest is to go to Walmart and buy your Mobil 1 in a five quart jug for $23. Than go to Lexus Parts World and buy your $5 oil filter. Use cl5 in promo code to get your 10% discount. Than take everything to a local Toyota dealership who will charge you $20 in labor.

I haven't tried using a local Toyota dealer for this but think it's a great idea. I'm not sure that my local dealer would agree though. I change my own under the car and do use Walmart and Mobil 1. However, the Lexus V6 takes 6.4 quarts of oil with a filter change - not 5 quarts - so an additional amount of oil must be purchased.

I had the oil changed on my ES about a week ago at the local Toyota dealer. The charge for the oil change with the same Toyota full synthetic oil and filter that the Lexus dealer would have used was $41 with a coupon. I'm not sure that I could beat that cost by doing it myself.

I'd gladly pay $41.00 for an oil change at the Toyota dealer. Are these coupons from the dealer?

Yes, the coupon is from the dealer. The coupon is for $10 off and it seems to be one that they have continuously available.

I think that their normal price for anyone who walks in is about $70, but they have "loyal customer" pricing for service, and, with the loyal customer pricing, the normal price for a full synthetic oil change is $51, but the $10 coupon seems to be regularly available, and that reduced the final price to $41.

With $12 rebate that mobile is running, you can get the 5 quarts for $10'ish after rebate. However, I thought that these took 6.5 quarts, not 5 so you would need two just to do one oil change (with 3.5 left over for the next one).

I use a set of car ramps for my other cars. Wonder if they would work for the ES (or does it sit too low)?

Oh my!

Not sure many ES350 owners are gonna want to lift their cars that way. Yikes!

Just my opinion.

Well, it is pretty safe (even earthquake safe), cheap and so easy.

You might be right fetv, but I am just having a hard time envisioning Lexus ES350 owners driving their cars up onto a street curb to save a few bucks to do DIY work on their cars. Again, this is just me and my opinion - I use a floor jack and stands when doing work on my 2011 Civic - works pretty well. Our ES will go to my highly dependable Indy mechanic who charges 10 bucks if I provide the oil and filter (after the comp services are done).

Now I understand, Lexus owners may not want to save a few bucks. If you do want to save a few dollars and feel embarrassed, then I would cover up the Lexus's logo or cover the car, or put some Makerfaire stickers on the car so that we won't feel embarrassed
