Otherwise, you can order them OEM painted to match your car and they look great.

I am considering adding the spoiler as well. Thought long and hard about drilling the holes and the risk of rust. I plan to paint the exposed metal with touch-up paint (even considered nail polish). I think that would provide protection from oxidation, even if the seals leak. Also considered a thin coat of silicone, just around the holes, as insurance. I wouldn't want water seeping around the holes and getting humidity into the trunk.

Just FYI: My local dealer in Columbia SC quoted me $300 for both spoiler (painted) and template. I didn't price labor, as I intend to do the work myself. I don't know what the spoiler looks like, no pictures to provide, just a telephone quote.

I put one on ours, the wife liked the way it looked.
It is pretty useless

Passing thought: If your "wife like the way it looked," then I would think it is NOT useless. More like mission accomplished! You've earned a beer. =)

I haven't had any luck finding a video or printed instructions for the installation online. Would love to read/review before I buy. While I don't like to ask for handouts, would you mind pointing me to a potential link for the install info? Video or written instructions would be fine. Would be appreciated.

I havent done it either. but there are 2 holes on the underside..looks to be about 24 inches apart , maybe more.. get 2 strips of paper about 6 inches long.. punch a hole in center of ea strip the size of the hole.place the strips on back facing fore and aft with holds over the holes in spoiler.. put blue tape on trunk turn over on car. get it where u want it.. tape ends of paper strips to the trunk..remove spoiler. paper strips remain on the trunk. mark holes..on blue tape...drill pilot hole. then enlarge... course u have to remove the truck lid liner...treat hole edge..remove stickey tape. place on care.. you only get one shot.....

I would suggest that there's probably a reason why they have both the tape and the screws.

I bought a aftermarket oem style one. And it's comes with the 3m adhesive. I know many people personally who only use the adhesive and there spoilers are still going strong

Since the spoiler on the ES is more aesthetic than function, just using adhesive should be fine.

You are right the adhesive should be fine cause they have aftermarket oem spoilers that are a no drill installation. See this video of a 3is no drill spoiler installation.

I like mine on my ES300h. It does make it look a bit sportier, which I think is good.

I wouldn't use the screws either.
