So, I'm wondering if I made a big mistake. Have a 2013 ES350 in SoCal, white with tan interior that I keep washed and hand waxed frequently. However, after 3 years, I finally went to my usual full service car wash and had them detail the interior. Real leather seats seem fine, but the black dash is now shiny. Well, it has a sheen and a blotchy one at that. Like an old boyfriend's Chevy in the 80s when he over did the Armor All all the time. Before the dash seemed to have a matte finish right from the start so I'm not liking this new look. Did I harm the material? What should I do now?

303 aerospace products work great. Mated finish and no oily look or feel.

I've had this happen before at car washes when I have forgotten to tell them to NOT put any armorAll stuff on at all. The good thing is that , from what I remember, the ugly shiny stuff eventually fades away over time and it goes back to normal , at least in my experience. Not sure if you can do anything specific to wash it away now.

I put nothing on my dash except water. I've done this since the car was new and it's a 2013. I've found that once any other solution, 303 or armorall or any other product is applied, then you have to continue applying it to keep it looking good. My dash looks like new and still has a smooth matte finish. Boston may be correct and it will fade away in time. I would suggest that you simply wipe it with clear water several times and see if it comes off.

IMO Armour All is the worst product for the dash as well as every other surface in the car. It out gasses and the windshield will become hazy. The dash's biggest enemy is the UV rays and Aerospace 303 offers great UV protection while remaining unnoticeable and keeping the matte finish. If it was me, I'd wipe the dash down with a mildly damp microfiber cloth or baby wipe, treat it with 303 letting it saturate for awhile and then wipe it down for the matte finish. Thereafter treat it maybe 2 or 3 times a year with 303.
