Default Used 2013 ES350: Good deal or Nah?

Hello All,

I am new to this forum. Last year I almost purchase a 2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport but decided to hold off for another year. Fast forward I am back in the market and ready to step into a Lexus only this time the ES350 seem's to be a better choice for overall practicality, affordability and 5 year cost of ownership.

After searching I found a Silver 2013 Lexus ES350 (36k miles 1 owner personal lease, clean carfax) Ultra Luxury Package w/Mark Levinson Premium Audio Package. It has the Light Gray NuLuxe Interior as well. Just the combination I want.

The car is located at a Toyota dealership and they are asking 27500 for the car. I offered 27000 OTD and they came back to me with 27600 OTD. The car does has the transferable 27 month 34k mile warranty remaining on the power train as well.

Is this a good deal?

Thank you! All comments and input will be well noted.

One question how does it have nuluxe yet it is a ultra luxury? Either it doesn't have nuluxue or it isn't luxury not ultra luxury.

I am probably mistaken on the type of leather..

It is defiantly the ultra luxury package tho. It has the driver seat cushion extender, passenger memory seats, full glass roof.

Kelly Blue Book is $28,200. At 36,000 miles what is the condition of the tires? Are they the originals if so will need replacing soon which could cost around $700. I do like that color combo. If the car has no dings, no rim rashes and leather looks in good condition, I would offer $27,000. Let them know you are serious and leave your name and number and let them know you will buy it for $27,000. Wait a couple of days and I would than offer $27,500 as final offer but they will include three free synthetic oil changes. This is done every 10,000 miles. Make sure the brake fluid was changed at 30,000 miles. This is done every 30,000 miles.

J D Power ranks Lexus #1 in reliability five years in a row. They rank the ES as #1 in the compact premium group. You can go to lexus.com and owners and register the car by vin number. It will give you much more detail for previous service records on the car.

Thank you for your reply

The tires were swapped out at 26k acording to the carfax. The car has the 18's with Michelin tires on them, factory I believe they are Bridgestone's?

Is it "Certified Used", or can only Lexus dealers offer that? That has to be worth something. In my estimation it is an OK deal. You may be paying a little more but the fact that it is a dealer and it is the color scheme you want, a couple grand more means little over the life of the car.

I recently purchased a 2014 ES, and was looking for a 2013. I bought it on Ebay. It was loaded (with nav) but needed more than it's share of TLC. I paid $25k + tax - about the same as your offer. Go for it and good luck!

I don't believe a Toyota dealership can certify it. It has been inspected and has some remaining warranties on it.

Was your 2014 a ultra luxury package? I am really set on having the ultra luxury package

It looks like a decent deal. I just closed on a CPO 2013 ES 350, 25K miles, luxury & nav package for 26K. It doesn't have ML audio or ultra-lux package -- but it has blind spot monitor, parking assist etc. Dealer had replaced all 4 brakes and tires and the car is in pristine condition. It has 3 years of full warranty left on it. Over the 7+ years I plan to keep the car, the extra 1K is not worth the effort to me (after all, this is ~ 3% of the purchase price). I literally spent an hour emailing dealers and visited only 2 dealers before I finalized.

I am not exactly clear on what the Ultra luxury package includes. From what I have read it includes a heated steering wheel, Mark Levinson upgraded stereo and panoramic roof - which mine does not include. It looks like I have the highest variation of the luxury package with voice-activated nav and blind spot monitoring.

This is not so much bad deal but in my opinion a 2016 would be better choice. Now that dealers are making room for 2017 they are offering huge discount on 2016. You should be able to get 2016 with sticker 46000 around 35500. if it doesn't break the bank go for 2016 (in my opinion)

Quick update for everyone:
Ended up driving a few hours to go check out the car and it turned out to have a few issues off the bat so I left right away pissed.

Anyways, my local lexus dealer here in Michigan offer me a few deals..
2016 Lexus ES350 Ultra luxury package, fully loaded MRSP around 49kish for 42k....
1,500 down 15k miles per year for a lease payments are 451 a month....

I really fell in love with the 2016 I drove this past Thursday and would really like to get one... but its a bit of a stretch for me budget wise. I was looking to spend around 30k.

I don't know if I would be satisfied now with a ES not having the ML sound system... A must is heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, rear sun shade, NAVI

Thoughts?
