Does anyone know why they did? It's probably one of the most missed features for me from my previous cars.

I could go without sunglass holder or folding seats, but not both. I don't know who this car is designed for; it certainly isn't for people with jobs, wives, or families.

Who knows what other short-sighted cost-cutting measures they took with this car. I'm not gonna buy it and find out. I loved my old ES, this is not the same

Did your old ES have folding rear seats?

no but every other car in its class did and still does. that was the one thing i disliked about it. you'd think after 10 years they'd make it better, not worse.

Why would adding folding rear seats make the car better? They designed it out to add in rigidity, which I think is a good thing.

Did you seriously just ask how adding a feature makes a car better?

I thought it was Michigan that had the lead water problem :P

It's not a "feature" I would use. I have an SUV for times when I feel the need to use my vehicle to haul stuff around. I appreciate the engineering thoughtfulness that was involved in the decision to add rigidity to the ES.

Now, the sun-glass holder is a different story. It's also the topic of the thread, so lets stay on point. I knew it was missing when I first test drove my ES. It wasn't enough of an issue, where it made me even consider looking elsewhere for a vehicle. Just a minor annoyance. It was in the 2012 and earlier. Maybe it will come back in a redesign.
