No one touch close close for moonroof?
I was told that it's normal to close moonroof u have to hold button down while closing it stops in the middle then you have to depress button and press again to fully close. Really annoying. Even my 11 year old ES had one touch close. I doubt it but is there a way to change it? This is on a 2016 model.

Are you enjoying an ES with Ultra Luxury equipment? The panoramic
roof has three glass panels, the front moves up to deflect the wind,
the moving section and the fixed rear. While the normal single pane
sunroof is auto close Lexus apparently thought that it was possible
that the glass to glass contact might jam or worse so they made it
necessary to hold to close.
If you have the regular model with single glass panel it sounds as if
it needs to be initialized. Hold the switch to fully open then hold to
fully close and repeat. That should reset the auto close function.
Last symptom, is there any reason the glass movement is being
restricted, dirty tracks, debris on the weatherstripping? This would
trigger the "Jam-Proof" safeguard and stop the closing motion.

thats how mine operates as well(2013). my 97 ls400 had a moonroof that operated the same way- it paused 2/3 of the way closed, supposedly to help guarantee that there is nothing in the way that would jam it up. a minor annoyance at worst; something i can definitely live with. now the endless pano rattles on the other hand... that is annoying.

It's been fixed multiple times, only to come back in a different place. The latest is a rattle under the plate that sits in front of the moonroof; rattles when shutting the front doors. Luckily not while driving tho, not that I can hear anyway. Car is no longer under full warranty, so the dealer isn't too keen on investigating it; at least not without charging me for it.
