Default ES 350 Makeover for 2017?

Since 2017 will be the 5th. year of the 6th. Gen Lexus ES 350 and 300, maybe there will be a makeover in the styling and features. If so, I'm interested in trading the '13...

When the manufacturers do a mid-cycle re-fresh, that is usually an attempt to try to boost lagging sales on a particular vehicle and to try to squeeze another 2 or 3 years out of the design before doing a complete re-design. So, I would think that, with the 2016 ES re-fresh, 2018 (or 2019) would be a more likely time for the Generation 7 ES to appear. The Generation 5 ES went from the 2007 model year to the 2012 model year. If my counting is correct, that is 6 model years, and the 2016 ES is only in its 4th year.

I agree. I think the refresh means 2-3 more years of the current generation. I'm curious to see the 2017 though.

I think a new 2019 model is more likely. I wouldn't expect anything more next year than maybe a new color.

They just did a pretty comprehensive refresh for 2016. The 2017 will be unchanged.

Have a 2013 ES and love everything about the 2016 ES except for the interior color selection. Please Lexus if you read this site at least have an option of a light color interior. With the 2016, if you order parchment or light gray half the door is a dark color, the back of the front seat is a dark color and the carpet and side of the center console are a dark color. Obviously color is a personal choice but Lexus has eliminated light color interiors. This will be a dealer breaker for me for new purchases. My wife agrees with me too. Both our 2013 ES and 2015 RX have the parchment seats, door panels and carpet. It is a one color light interior.

Contrasting interiors are in. If you look at other competitors they're doing the same thing.

Fred, I feel the same, I like the one color interior better.

I feel the same way, and that is particularly true with the flaxen interior.

While I really like the flaxen color by itself, when it is combined with the dark brown color on the lower part of the interior, I feel like I'm looking at colors that I'd expect to find in a toilet bowl.

I know that there are people who love that combination, but I'm not one of them, and, when I see that interior combination, I just want to turn my eyes away from it.

Hmmm...I am apparently one of the few who like the two tone interiors.

As for the '17, it would be nice to see them upgrade the engine to the direct injection/PFI version they're now putting in the other cars (2GR-FKS), especially since the '17 Highlander and Sienna are getting it. I will not hold my breath, however.

The previous gen ES ran for 6 model years (2007-2012) with a refresh in 2010 in the 4th model year. I would guess the current gen might follow close to the same timing.

Since the ES is now based on the Avalon platform I have checked and Toyota seems to be saving any significant changes for the 2018 models. As others have stated, the 2016 had a refreshed front and rear fascia so the 2017 should be pretty much the status quo. No complaints from this 6th generation 2013 ES 350 owner. The car looks incredible from all angles and has aged very well inside and out.
