I wasnt expecting to find so many people comparing the 17 accord touring(v6) to es 350 ultra lux package when I typed in "compare es 350 to Honda Accord touring this morning, but I really appreciate all of the feedback. I've been up most of the night trying to decide. I've owned 07 IS 250 and 2010 GX 360. I currently drive a Prius. After having the gx all I wanted to do was save gas money! The gx was killing me when gas got so high! I absolutely love my Prius in terms of reliability, maintence, gas, but it's not comfortable, nor sexy. I am looking at a 16 ES 350 ultra lux package L certified and the loaded v6 Honda touring less the hybrid...won't do that again. I love Lexus, always have, just didn't want to spend more than 30k. The 2 cars are absolutely different in so many ways but both very affordable. The one comment that resonates the most is "if you plan to keep it 10-12 years go with the Honda. We do hope to keep our cars until we can donate them. I'm hoping the Lexus will go the distance. Thanks for all of your comments, I'll go with the Lexus. The Accord is a great car. For a record 30th time in the 32-year history of the award, Car and Driver magazine has named the Honda Accord to its prestigious annual list of the 10 Best Cars in America. However!!! Lexus has been #1 in reliability for 6 years in a row and is the third least expensive to maintain. Honda ain't doing bad however!!! Both great and wise purchases . They are just different rides. We also moved to the ES from a Prius for the same reasons. The Prius was a terrific city commuter, but it didn't have the greatest ride and it was a bit noisy, especially on the road. We found the hybrid ES 300h was a great compromise between the comfort we were looking for and the great gas mileage of the Prius. My dash was reading 39.5 MPG today - which is generally about 1.5 MPG higher than actual.
Just read that Honda will no longer offer a V6 in the Accord after 2017. Just say'n...

Honda makes some great cars, no doubt about it. The CRV is great for the money. The Accord is also great for the money, but it has some differences that you will notice after owning one for a while:
- Most Honda's have a significant amount of wind noise. They are known for this. This drives some people crazy, others could care less. It bothered me.
- Even the highest end models have very tinny sounding stereo's. Not sure why, but every one we have ever owned was difficult to enjoy listening to. I'm sure this could be remedied by aftermarket purchases for not a lot of money, but I am not into that.
- Engine and transmission are not as smooth as Lexus. They are not bad at all, just not nearly as smooth at high rpms, and shifting under acceleration.
- Everyone else, including their grandmother, has one. I mean everyone.
Honda's are reasonably priced, good handling, good looking, dependable cars. Perfect for some people, but there are better options out there for others.

Yep - only thing I like better about my Accord over our ES is that it cost half as much.

Thanks for your feedback! We bought the ES and I love it! It is honestly the nicest, quietest car I've owned. I hope to get decent gas mileage in it. I keep noticing the gas gauge whereas I never did in the Prius. Ha! I'm hoping this distraction will go away.
