Puddle Lamps
I just purchased a 2013 ES 350 - Luxury edition, I wonder if the existing side view mirrors are set up for puddle lights? There is a lens under the mirror, is that for puddle light or blind spot monitor? Also, if so would is wired and have a socket for just adding a bulb?

I also have a 2013 Luxury Edition. Your mirrors should have 3 lights. One on the bottom - the puddle lights - One on the side for turn signals, and the blind spot monitor signal (light) is actually inside the mirror. The puddle lights should illuminate when you approach the car with the smart key. There may be a setting for that and I'm not sure.

My car is not the ultra-luxury, which puddle lights are standard. I know the blind spot light is on the mirror. Is the lens below the mirror unit the sensor for the blind spot or for a puddle light when installed?

The lens on the bottom is for the puddle light. Don't know where the sensor is for the BSM. I also have a Luxury Edition - not Ultra.

I don't have my manual handy to check for sure, but, for the puddle lights (which I believe Lexus calls "welcome lights) to turn on when you approach the vehicle, I think you need to have a switch on the center overhead console set in the proper position. You may also need to have the headlights set on "auto", but I'm not sure of that.
Again, if you check the manual, there is a description of what needs to be set to enable them.

Welcome light illumination control
The side marker, parking, tail and license plate lights automatically turn on at night
when the doors are unlocked using the entry function or wireless remote control if
the light switch is in the “AUTO” position.
There is also a custom setting for the lights but the manual says "Settings that can be changed by your Lexus dealer" which means you need the dealer to do it or use your own OBD programmer like Carista.
