Default New Battery?

How long do they last?

I'm driving a 2013 300h and its still the original starting battery.
I've got 3.25 yrs on this one. I'm a little surprised its lasted this long.

When did you replace yours? or not yet?

My '06 Avalon had the original battery when I traded it for my 2013 Lexus. Almost 7 years and was still strong.

The 12V batteries on hybrids probably last much longer because they only provide power to electrical systems like the lights and audio/nav. I think the AC compressor and power steering run off a 200+V line from the hybrid battery pack and the engine starts off the MG1 motor.

I got 9+ years out of the battery in my 2005 GX, and I probably could have gotten another year out it, but we were going into the winter, and I didn't want to push it.

I've found that the key to extending battery life is to make sure that you are never letting the charge down too low. When I have a vehicle that is not going to be driven for any length of time, I hook it up to a Battery Tender, and that seems to be very good for battery health.

An original battery on a 2013 ES should still have plenty of life left in it.

Ok, that's good news.

I put one of those car jump starters in the trunk thinking I'd get stuck sooner or later. Looks like a lot later.

Wow...I always knew batteries in warmer climates did not last as long as colder places (like where I live), but I would think a battery is faulty if it only lasted 3.25 years.

We have an older Toyota in the driveway --battery was replaced in 2009 and still running strong, and that's in a place where it got down to below 0F in the winter.

If I don't get 8 years out of a battery I think something is wrong.

The battery in a hybrid should be an AGM battery which in theory should last longer than a standard flooded battery in the ES 350. However I'll still recommend checking state of health/CCA every 5000 miles/6 months. The hybrid system still depends on the auxiliary battery which could leave you stranded when you come to stop which could result in a tow truck bill.

Why not just call Lexus and use their free roadside assistance?

Ha, I had forgotten I even have that!
but that would also mean I have to buy a lexus branded battery, at the 220% discounted price.

I have a 2003 expedition, that I was lucky to get 3 years from a battery. before that a explorer, and a gmc jimmy before that. & way before that I had a buick.

I don't think I got 4 years battery life out of any of those.

- 2 exceptions were my track cars, those lasted more like 6 years, but they were on battery kill switches and were only used a few times a year.

The 12v battery in my 2006 GS lasted 9 years with minimal use and the battery in my Corvette lasted 10 years with minimal use.
