Default 6th Gen ES 350 Center Console Removal/Disassemble

My center console, especially around the Display Audio Controller, has some gunk in it that can only be cleaned by removing and disassembling the console.

Problem is, I'm not finding good info on how to do this for the 6th Gen (2013 - ) with Lexus Display Audio controller.

Any experience you can share? I've seen the 5th Gen videos, posts, etc. but so far no luck with 6th Gen as the console is very different. Thanks.

Have you tried a vacuum with a concentrate nozzle? Perhaps a moist Q-Tip will help.

I would try a lot of things before removing the console to solve your problem.

I've used tuff stuff or a foaming glass cleaner (without ammonia in it) before on other vehicles. You spray, agitate with a soft toothbrush, spray again, and then suck everything out with a shop vac. It's worked on a lot of stuff for me.

Agreed. The plastic bits and parts rarely fit back together as tightly and completely as the factory fit. You could induce squeaks or rattles by dismantling. I would certainly save that for an option of last resort.

You might consult a detail shop as they will defitely have ideas on how to clean it out and I guarantee you they will also shy away from dismantling it. A good detailer will have various tricks for getting those tough spots.
