Default Auto reading of text messages using iPhone

I have a 2014 ES300H and just recently purchased an iPhone. Used to be an Android guy. Now I see a feature that says Auto Read Text Messages when using my iPhine. However, the car never does. I still have to ask Siri to read it. I have the feature turned on. Any ideas on how to get this to work?

Yep! Already have that turned on and that does not help. Anything else?

Pretty sure that feature doesn't work with Apple.

The reading aloud of text messages is supported on the iPhone.

To the OP, I would disconnect, "forget this device", and re-pair your phone. Then turn notifications back on.

after showing notifications reboot the phone and reboot the telematics system (push and hold the power/volume **** in till it turns off continue to hold till you see the boot screen) should work fine after that

You would be PRETTY WRONG in that case because it works just fine for my wife with her iPhone. Message comes in. System asks her if she wants to hear it. She responds YES and the car's "voice" then reads the message.

Well, THANK YOU for setting ME straight. BTW, I was already corrected. Some people should learn to read the whole thread, before responding in a ridiculously condescending manner.
