Default Forget to turn off engine

I keep forgetting to turn off my engine when I got to work in my 2013 ES 350 and let it run all day. Is there any settings for the car to turn off automatically after awhile without the key inside the car

No, I don't believe there is such a setting.

No setting but the car should beep at you when you try getting out to warn you.

This, plus you can't lock it. Surprised it's still there when you get back.

Edit: Not actually sure about the locking part, now that I think about it. Maybe time for a muffler delete!

Ya, that happened to me soon after picking it up. While parking I got out and tried to lock the door by touching the outside door handle. It wouldn't lock and kept beeping at me. I tried a bunch of thing including getting back in to try leaving and closing the door from scratch.

Only then did I happen to look at the tach, doh...

Damn it's quiet!

At least it was only a few hours.

A few years ago, someone left a Camry Hybrid running in the airport parking lot for several days.

Mine beeps at me when I leave it on to check the mail.

Even you do forget, since its not moving, wouldn't the engine turn off and it will just be in ECO mode (on battery power)

Basically, yes. Whatever lights and accessories are running will continue to use power. If a big accessory is using a lot of power, like the air conditioning, the motor will turn on periodically to recharge the power. Over some number of days, those periodic runs will use the remaining fuel. And, of course, you don't want that motor running in your attached garage.

Well, I consider it a positive that our cars are so very QUIET that this sort of thing is actually possible.

Perhaps you are hard of hearing or could even be deaf. In that case I would suggest that you contact your local dealer to see if there is an "Official" feature that they could enable for your otherwise....

It DINGS at you when you exit the vehicle. How much MORE of a reminder do you REALLY need?
Do you just ignore it when you get out at work? It would be like ignoring the seat belt reminder. Can't really be done ... easily.

One note of caution: This could be VERY VERY dangerous if you are parking in the garage of your own home as a vehicle running in an enclose garage will bring a color-less, smell-less gas called carbon monoxide into your home which can literally kill you so please figure this one out ASAP or just pay better attention to what you are doing
