Smile 2015 es 350 matte wrap thoughts?

I currently have the 2015 atomic silver ES 350. And I was wondering if a dark grey matte wrap would look good on it? I know super old models don't fit the ES for a matte wrap, but the 2015 model is a different exterior. Should I wrap it?

We chose the Atomic Silver because we like the color. Had I wanted a dark gray car I would have gone with a Nebula Gray Pearl. Furthermore, I'm just not a fan of the matte look - I must be too old. I just can't imagine doing that to a new car, unless it is a tuner-type vehicle. I just can't see it with a family sedan like an ES.

You asked, so that's one opinion. It is a VERY personal choice so ultimitely it really only matters what you like. How much does something like that cost? Is it easy to remove if you decide you don't like it? Please post pics if you decide to go for it - would love to see it.

I was in Atlanta several weeks ago and saw an Audi A7 RS wrapped in dark matte gray. It had the blacked out tint and with black rims...the car looked awesome!!!

Photoshop your car or have someone who knows how to photoshop. This should give you some idea of how it would look.

And if you do go this route, you MUST black out the chrome and wheels or else it won't look right.

I vote no...matte wraps tend to either be on fast, sporty cars or poser cars (that want to look fast and sporty). The ES350 is neither. Don't mess it up with a matte wrap; it'll cheapen the look of it.

@Ward6096 --- I went after the ES for the comfort of the ride and that 5-star passenger safety, ultimately forgetting that I wanted a "sporty" looking car. I am thankful for the ES I have now, but I still want that "look", I am 18 so I do feel I want to make the car look a little less of a family style sedan if that makes sense. That is my personal reason tho I don't want it to look weird if the newest model of ES is not a good fit. Matte wrapping is much cheaper than paint and protects the car and you can take it off whenever you want. The price range said $200-$2000 depending on your car and what you want done to it.

@KennyLexus --- Yeah my friend was telling me I also needed to darken the tints which I have already done and change the rim color. Can you imagine that on a 2015 ES tho? The Audi A7 is awesome matted I've seen that before.

@dchar --- On the newest 2015 exterior model? I thought it looked a little closer to a old generation GS. I have a photo of a matted GS similar exterior model to the 2015 ES. Tell me what you think!

This is the GS matted.

I just posted on this thread my car, and a GS matted. This GS looks somewhat similar to the ES. This is what I am basing my image off of.

Can you check my photos and maybe there's a change of mind when seeing it?

I've seen an ES300h with a light blue matte wrap, similar to the robin's egg blue paint option. It looked stunning with 18" rims. It's very much a personal thing but I prefer light matte wraps instead of darker ones like the GS above. Best of luck with getting a wrap and post some pix

Do it. The advantage of a wrap is that if you don't like it, it can be removes.

You would have to get a blacked out grill, black chrome the Lexus emblem, deep dish black rims, and black out all chrome trim. Then and only then will you be a Stunner....I'm just saying.

Oh, also get rid of that hideous front license plate.

I must admit, the picture you posted gives me a better feel for the end result. It looks sharp. Much better than I would have imagined. It would definitely give more visual interest to an otherwise conventional sedan appearance. If it can be easily removed (just in case you hate it), I would go for it. Be sure to post pics. It's a rule

Doesn't fit the character of the ES IMHO, and if you don't do the whole thing, wheels, suspension, etc its not going to look right. To me that GS looks weird on the stock rims.

Atomic Silver is far too beautiful a color to cover up!
