Still haven't gotten around to doing the leds in the floor well but I did get around to this. SO EASY. $6 worth of purple LEDS (off ebay) 5 minutes worth of "work"

yes i love the look of the regular yellow interior bulbs and how they light up the interior as i approach the car. that purple would be way too garish for my taste, unless mb it was halloween or something. I appreciate that you like it tho!

Interesting...but not my taste (too ghetto). Doesn't seem to light up the interior very well. If I dropped something dark colored on the floor, I'd have a hard time finding it.

Ghetto and garish. Now I feel extra confident in my choice. Ever see that scene in American Psycho where the businessmen all have the same basic business card but in very slightly different tints/shades of beige/white? That scene always made me smile.

As soon as I get the footwells and the trunk done...I'll post more.

As to the lighting ability: There are three bulbs in the front dome. The main that stays on for 3 seconds after you close the door...(purple) and the left and right bulbs (original yellowish white) that you press should you need to find something after the first 3 seconds expire.

I actually like the NY Giants...but REALLY like the uniforms of the Vikings. I'm an Art Director by trade...I use color to sell stuff all the time. It really is amusing to me to see different reactions to color depending upon the "forum"

The purple is killing it on Facebook for example. Though in fairness the girls that love it to guys that love it ratio is atleast 3 to 1.

I wonder if it's the specific light wavelength that we have named purple or that it is a color at all that is bothering people on this forum? Would blue be as offensive? Green? Red?

It's the easiest mod for the ES and I like your style I might not agree with purple for interior lighting but hey, cars are meant to be personalized. I'm gonna try some red LEDs for a submarine look. Don't cheap out on LEDs though, I've had a blown white interior LED that didn't make it past a year. I hope my mirror LEDs hold up because replacing them is a nightmare.

for me personally, when i see colored interior lights like this(any color, not just purple), i think slammed mid- 90s honda civic with racing stripes, belly lights, huge whale tail, and fart can. It may just be an age thing too- I would have probably appreciated it more in my early 20s. But being twice that now, my tastes have become a bit more, um , conservative i guess...

Glad you were able to customize it to your liking. If the Vikings beat the Packers on Sunday, you may want be careful who sees it!

Your choice of purple is not offensive. As EDU stated, it's your car so do with it what you want. Paint Zebra stripes on the side if you wish... Good Luck with the car and send us more photos.

That color would look cool in the footwells. For me, Im thinking that white,yellow, bright blue and green work better for the dome. Unless your intent is to drive with it on, then I could see using the purple.
Keep up the mods, looks good.
