Default Quick Reply Messages not functioning

My 2016 Lexus ES 350 has been great w/ one exception, the quick message replies do not appear as an option. When I receive a text/iMessage on my iPhone it will appear on the navigation screen, but I only have the options to Read, Ignore, or Phone/Call. I found the Quick Reply Messages setting in the manual, but it does appear as an option in the Phone Settings. I called a few weeks ago to the person assigned to help with questions like this but he is not returning my calls. Any suggestions on why this isn't working?

Go to the Lexus site and check your compatibly with your phone. I have an iPhone 6S plus and it will not send a text using the multimedia system. I just use the Siri Eyes Free to do everything.

Just like Mhobizal noted above, the Siri Eyes Free function worked fine through my entertainment system and I can now send and receive text messages while driving without taking my hands off the wheel or eyes off of the road...many thanks.

I think there are a bunch of threads on this already, but Apple doesn't allow that functionality on the iPhone.

Androids have only the 15 prewritten responses available
Apple users can compose using Siri Eyes Free
Works at the speed of Siri so be patient

Press the Off Hook button on steering wheel till you hear Siri trill
"Text ", What do you want to sent to ?
Compose your text and she will read it back. Want me to send it? Yes or Send...
When answering an incoming text just say "respond text" after pressing Off Hook
