Default So I had an ES300h loaner...

And I must say that it really grew on me after 24 hours. I am generally pretty biased toward German makes like BMW and Audi so immediately I was disappointed with the way the ES drove and with a lot of the cheaper bits in the interior. It was also boring to look at and the cream interior made me feel like I was more than double my age. However, I slowly found little things I liked about the car, such as how it was [while boring] effortless and easy to drive, had a gorgeous wood/leather steering wheel that was heated, had an EcoPro/Normal/Sport mode which all made a noticeable difference, and how it was so spacious. To add to that it was so cheap to fuel and is certainly extremely reliable. I now see the appeal of the ES. It is definitely not for people like me, but it's a decent car.

I've owned German cars which are fun to drive. Not so much fun when the warranty expires...I'll take the Lexus.

You can't say these things out loud - everybody will want one. Ok, so the ES 300h may not be an exciting car, but it really performs its intended function well. It is smooth, quiet, spacious and gets excellent fuel economy. But then what do we know, we upgraded from a Prius, so economy and comfort were our primary evaluation factors. The Prius could hold more stuff with the hatchback, and the load height was nice, but it was just to noisy for our tastes.

We have really enjoyed our ES 300h and would buy again if given the choice. It also makes a great road-trip car too, although the trunk isn't very large.

I've had mines for a few years now. I took it in for a routine service. And as I typically do, I got a loaner; a 2015 ES350. I couldn't get use to starting up a non-hybrid car...never thought I'd say that. I also met with a salesman as I was picking my car up. I told him that I will probably upgrade next year to a GS. And yes, it will be a hybrid.

BTW, I will also keep Stunner

That hybrid has some punch even in Eco mode. Was pretty impressed with the power delivery overall.

I got Euro Lux rides out of my system. Got tired of paying my Indy mechanic's kids college tuitions from all the repairs/issues.

I'll stick with Lexus.

Curious, does a beige color in the interior of a BMW or Audi also make you feel like you are "more than than double your age" also?

Good one. I have a BMW with a tan interior - You don't want to know how old it would make me if I felt double my age!

BMW's are cool, they give you a free puppy when you purchase one...so you have someone to walk home with when it breaks down. They think of everything.

Puppies? I was not advised of puppies. Next time I break down (which will be the 1st) I'm demanding 2.

Neighbor with a BMW bought the tow truck option. It was expensive at $1,500 but him owning multiple BMW's thought it was worth it. A tow truck driver would follow him where ever he drives. All serious aside one would think that what you pay for one and the maintenance expense that it would be at the top of the list for dependability. Industry average for a luxury brand!!! Looking at the J D Power results it does make one wonder about the owners of Fiat and Land Rover.
