Default Lease advice (2013 -> 2016)

My dealer contacted my about turning in my 2013 ES 350 (30,000 miles) 3 months early (due in Feb) to waive the final 3 payments and keep my payments the same. Anyone have advice on this?

I am a noob when it comes to leasing, but the wife LOVES the ES, although I would like to step up to the GS.

Thoughts / advice are appreciated!

I had exactly the same choice in July coming from a 2014 ES300h. I did not go for the '16 ES even though I had an excellent experience with my lease. Just felt that even though there was a change (facelift) from mine, that it was only slight, and my sister reminded me that I, as a car guy, would be bored with the new one after a short time. I ended up with the RC coupe for about $11/mo. more than I was paying on the ES lease. I don't regret the change.

If you've lusted for a GS, I say, go for it, if the figures are add up for you.

I LOVE my 2016 butttt If you have the opportunity to upgrade to the GS, I say do it.

I personally think the front grille and differences on the 16 are much better than what the ES had before. I walked into the dealer wanting an IS and came out with this car and I don't regret it one bit.

Way more meaningful than the grille cosmetics are the stronger, quieter ride and the NavTraffic sourced from HD rather than XM. HD covers 3X more roads, refreshes more frequently and is free forever!

I find the HD traffic totally unreliable. Yeah it covers more roads, but the data is almost always wrong.

Not only is is wrong, but totally USELESS. I've checked it when I'm slogging along in highway traffic, and trying to find out the reason(s). It tells me nothing but "slow moving traffic"....duh!

They are offering you a "pull ahead" program. Essentially ends your lease early, no disposition. Its a freebie. You can negotiate a new lease on the new lexus you choose. Its a way to get you into a new car early, they are hoping you are not prepared and will take an easy deal by giving you similar terms as your old lease. Take spme time to pock the car you want, and research what you can get. My bet is that if they have a 2015 GS350 that youlike, uou can get a killler dral on it right now. Go to the GS forums and check up on the recent lease deals people have worked out. December to Remember is one of the best times to work a great deal.

Thanks for the advice! Looks like I may swing into the dealer this week and test drive the GS, although I (more so my wife) love the way the ES drives / handles.
