Default October 1 Lease/Finance Deals?

Now that the lease rates and "factory $$$$s" have expired (09/30)...curious as to what the new 10/01 deals may look like???

Came close on a 2016 ES but just could not get there. A bit confused by negotiating on a 2015 GS that had some significant factory support money ($3,200) vs the 2016 ES that had nothing other than a discount (less than 5% of MSRP) and the lease money rate benefit I could get by paying down a significant refundable extra "security deposit"...$4,500.

No sure if they let things sit for a bit or if they will have something interesting for October???

Please let me know what you are hearing at the dealer level if you are negotiating for either an ES or a GS. Sure is a tough call...both are quality autos with different "assets"...and COSTS.

Thanks in advance...hope to get a feel for other markets as my local market has only two Lexus dealers...BUT they are both owned by the same group...so no competitive Lexus shopping.

Thanks...TomMartin

P.S. I am in the upper midwest...

The ES 350 6th generation is a very quiet section. Seems to be little discussion of ES 350 leases/financing or purchases??

Not sure if that is a sign of older average age of ES purchasers?...less social media "savy"?

Well, I will be 68 on Wed so at least I am a little bit "active" TomMartin

Bump

Dealers tend to negotiate more on the GS since it is their less popular model and they tend to sit on the lot much longer than the ES. Dealers are desperately trying to get rid of their 2015 inventories, therefore you'll see more incentives on those rather than the 2016s.

I suggest picking the car you want first, and negotiate from there.
The GS is sportier, handles better, more powerful, big screen, better quality interior, but costs more and significantly less legroom in the back. The ES is more comfortable, spacious backseat, optional panoramic sunroof, much cheaper, but not a performance car and little less interior refinement. Not to mention, you are looking at a 2015 GS which has the "old" Lexus design (refresh coming next month for 2016MY), while the 2016 ES has the "new" Lexus design.

Was at a dealer on Sat and offered the following two options. 2015 ES350 MSRP was $44,565. I was told there was $3k in cash back avail towards either purchase or lease. Was quoted purchase price of 39,800 plus dealer doc fee of 134 plus state fees of 168 plus tax. Lease deal was quoted same 39800 (23880 60% residual) plus fees and 6% tax with $5k down and 36 mo, 7500 miles/yr for 514/mo. (Was told money factor was .00170). I'm not too familiar with lease deals but my gut is the lease numbers really sucked? What say ye on these two deals. These numbers were attained with out pushing too hard yet. (Also was working a deal on a used 2013 so that may have factored into his numbers.....not sure.)

If that deal is on a 2015 as you posted, then it is horrible. You can check the lease deals thread on the es forum and in this forum to get an idea. Some strong deals should be available on 2015s of both models.

I would agree that the quote you received was horrible. I leased my 2014 ES (very close to same MSRP as your 2015 quote) and in the late Summer of 2014 and at 0 down, 10k miles and 33 months for $476 per month. I would think you could get just as competitive a deal on a 2015 leftover at this point in time.

How do you guys feel about the straight purchase price? 2015 ES350 MSRP was $44,565. I was told there was $3k in cash back avail towards either purchase or lease. Was quoted purchase price of 39,800 plus dealer doc fee of 134 plus state fees of 168 plus tax.

Where am I missing the boat on the lease deal? Purch price, money factor, residual or what?

Salesman say essentially "out" of 2015 ESs...they do already have quite a few 2016 ESs.

As Jets said $500 lease cash on 2016 ES 350. Lease factor before any "buy down" is .00160...3.84% annual rate. Pre-09/30 they offer 4.8% discount on a $45,824 MSRP (2016 ES 350). I have not requested an update but anticipate the $500 may be the only change.

Thanks...TomMartin

I agree dchar...not only is there the differences between ES/GS but there is also the "deal" difference between 2015/2016. Part of what I had to do was to begin to understand the Lexus lease program...and get a feel of how they price/discount.

Also, I am quite convinced not having a "competitor" Lexus deal locally hurts quite a bit. There are two nice big Lexus dealers but they are both owned and managed by the same group.

Not sure if I may eventually need to get some internet quote from other upper midwest dealers? That is...when I have settled on a model and year Thanks TomMartin

Could use some additional 2016 ES 350 purchase or lease detail transactions made during October. Would be nice to get a good "feel" for post 09/30 ES 350 transactions...Thanks...TomMartin

Question

We haven't leased any vehicles in quite a long time, maybe 20 years now, but the 7500/10k miles per year are horrible. What's the price per mile over those numbers?

I can post mine but its embarrassing to even post the numbers (Actually dealer - Park Place Grapevine) should be embarrassed for giving me these numbers.

MSRP: $42249
Net cap cost after all fees : $44k
Residual value : $26k
$640 per month for 12k miles annually -36 months

These are all rough numbers based on my memory.

I laughed. Not to mention they wanted to give me 5k less than KBB trade-in value for my CT. Funny part was when I asked about money factor - salewoman was saying "Oh its standard". I said OK and left. Gave them a scathing review on Google and emailed my regular sales guy (he was busy at the time) about what BS numbers were given to me. This after we just purchased an NX200t in July and use them for all servicing too. That saleswoman pretty much ended my 3 yr business relations with Park Place. Time to shop around.

The deal was so bad - the saleswoman got really nervous when we got up and left. I could see that she knew that all numbers given were complete and utter nonsense. Also, she wanted to charge $299 for tinting - something I received for free on my previous 2 cars!

Payment seems high.
Your CT is taking a big hit because new '15's are being discounted $8K-$10K.

Of course payments are high - when I calculated the APR it equated to 9% for 3 years. Sales woman was out of her mind. My sales guy said he is going to rework all numbers. I will post them here when he emails me. If push comes to shove, I will just hold on to CT200h for a year or so. Definitely not interested in taking a 5k hit.
