locked/unlocked trunk
Just bought a 2013 ES300H. My question is there a setting that will keep the trunk unlocked when the car doors are unlocked when I do not have my key fob. I am all the time in the garage and will try to open the trunk and it is locked. My previous car an Acura RL was set liked this.
Thanks for any assistance!!!

Yes, it can be set the way you want it.
You need a Bluetooth OBD2 connector and the Carista app to access Lexus personalized settings. There are like 25 settings in there that can be personalized to your liking.
The dealer can do this for you, but it will cost you more than the gadget and the app.

There is a personalized setting that allows you to change how you can use the smart key to open the trunk (personalized setting #35), but regardless of which option is chosen, you still need to have the smart key with you to open the trunk.

Attached are the dealer only settings and I don't see the feature to keep the trunk unlocked when the doors are unlocked.

You can always just open the door and press the button.

I've had a few times when the ES has been parked in the garage and I've wanted to get into the trunk, but I didn't have the smart key with me. Yes, the obvious "work-around" is just to open the door and press the button under the dash. As I think about it, it wasn't all that many years ago when the way that we opened the trunks on our cars required having to use a key, and getting into the trunk got easier when cars started to have trunk release levers inside the car. Now, with the advent of things like smart keys, we think that having to use the trunk release inside of the vehicle, which we once thought of as a convenience, is an inconvenience.

Had that complaint on my 2013 GS350 too. Asked the dealer if they could change it, but they said it couldn't be changed. It was a common complaint they got. Luckily, the 2015 cars don't have this inconvenience anymore.
