I just got new es300h 2015, first day i already noticed noise from hood when driver side door opened, after door closed then opened, noise is gone.

Noise usually happened when car cooled down. I brought this issue to dealer they response its normal in hybrid car. I really doubt explanation. Does anyone has similar issue?

The noises are completely normal. The car expects to be driven and because the engine done not come on necessarily it needs to get the vacuum for the power brakes etc. so it makes strange noises. Don't worry about it and enjoy the car.

Thanks very much explanation. I was so worry brought a defective car, hopefully will get used to noise soon.

If you want to be extra sure, just take a short video of the noise and post it so that other can confirm it is the same as theirs. While some noises are to be expected, people don't actually know(they're merely assuming) what noises that you're encountering.

If it's a loud whirring sound that comes when you open the driver's side door, it should be the brake pump. It re-primes after the car has been parked for a while.

One noise you will be hearing less of...gas station pump click off sound!

Yup. Completely normal on Toyota hybrids. Congrats and enjoy the car.

By the way, it will sometimes also make that sound as you approach the car with the key. I don't know exactly what it is doing - never really cared, but this is our third hybrid and they all do this.

On the mercedes its louder! The minute you disarm the car, pump starts running for like 5-10 seconds. Very annoying.
