ES 350 sports mode - enough?

ES 350 sports mode - enough?
I just test drove the ES 350 - and I think that the sports mode was pleasantly sufficiently enough.
I don't have much experience with some of the peformance cars though...I do remember driving the GS 350 AWD and thought the car was too heavy (if that is the right way to describe it)....I am just curious what people think about this....
As a side note...has anyone ever looked into how much the MPG suffers in the sports mode?
