I have been thinking of vent-visors. not sure if they would jam the window.

anyone?

keeps rain out when you roll down windows, or you can crack them in parking lot.

Been running some for about 3 weeks now, only complaint is the added wind noise. However I don't even notice it anymore after my first day of driving with them installed. Easy installation via 3M double sided tape and metal positioning tabs (All exterior mounting and will not damage your window jam seals). Here are some before and after photos. Notice the gap between the front door vent and rear door vent, At first I was turned off by this gap (aka London look), but the integrated chrome trim in the vents definitely help with the overall look.

I thought they were suppose to reduce wind noise. What brand do you have installed on your car?

That was my first thought, too. But, as I thought about it more, I wasn't so sure.

Considering the way that modern vehicles are designed with the aid of computer technology and the way that those designs are extensively tested in wind tunnels, it is likely the case that the shape of the vehicles as designed is going to be about as good as it gets with regard to minimizing wind noise, minimizing aerodynamic drag, maximizing fuel economy, etc.

I've read threads on this board, for example, in which people say that they discovered that the cause of increased wind noise on their ES vehicles was something as small as paint protection film applied to the mirrors, and there is a current thread on the board in which an ES owner seems to have discovered that the cause of wind noise on his vehicle was a tiny gap between two pieces of the chrome trim around the windows.

Considering the care that goes into vehicle design, I think I'd be very careful about making any changes that would alter, even in a small way, the aerodynamics of the vehicle from the way that it came out of the factory.

Unfortunately I don't recall the wind noise with my window cracked without these visors installed so I cannot say for certain that these have reduced wind noise in that type of scenario. The added wind noise I was referring to is with all 4 windows rolled shut. What you lose in one area you gain in another. I personally find these useful when I'm taking my lunch breaks and it's raining outside. Or it's warm, but I want to keep bugs out and still get fresh air. Rarely do I drive with my windows open at all because I dislike the turbulent air flow.

Those look like over the door types, Yes?
Red 3M double stick tape to outside of frame?

-I was looking at inside the window frame type.

I have had them on 2 SUV's and a jetta. the jetta had a finger safety sensor that would stop one of the 4 from going up automatically.

There is a bit of wind noise but not that bad usually. But the advantage of parking with windows cracked is huge in Fla.

another issue is you can't open the windows if its raining. there is no gutter on the ES so it drips right in.

These are the ones I am looking into getting.

Correct I have the kind that's over the door via 3M double sided tape. Just a matter of styling because regardless of which type you go with, they are intended for opening your windows a tad.

Default installed weather tech in window channel deflectors

these are not trouble free, or perfect out of the box.

I had to file the edges so the windows don't hit to hard and trigger the safety function, and lower the windows.

not much wind noise at all. some when window is opened. not sure if worse than before.

note the filing in pic#4, to create knife edge, vs blunt edge.

at 1st they windows triggered the safety every time, but after letting them set in the heat, and some filing of the edge, its much better. only passenger rear gives me trouble today.

-this is about what I expected... sometime you must raise the window in short bursts to get it all the way up.

-I also removed the 'weathertech' decal, with my fingernail and some paint thinner. after pics taken.
