Text to voice for Android phone in 350 possible?
Don't quite understand if this would be a car capability or just need to have an app for my Android phone. I'm not a big user of my SmartPhone, prob. text 10X a month, but a friend has a 2013 Hyundai (?) car and I see that she gets her texts (and emails??) voiced to her in her car and she's able to verbally reply back with a message if she wants to, all hands-free, of course. I'd like to know if my std. (non-fancy) Android phone and my 2013 350 ES can also do that. It DOES receive my phone calls through the car speaker so can it do more? If so, .... how? I'm rather a newbie with this kind of thing. With what app or what method? Thank you! I just did a search & see that Google just today announced a new pgm. that will be built into many cars that will do exactly this + map & traffic reading, etc. But, that will be apparently car-specific.

In another thread, someone posted saying that he/she uses an Android app called AVX to do, I think, what you want to do. The thread is here.

I qualify this by saying that I haven't used the app myself, but it does sound like it would do what you want to do.

'Cmon guys and gals ... isn't there ANYONE that wants to achieve this besides me? NO one's interested in trying to get this done for themselves? Imagine the convenience of being able to have your texts read to you and being able to verbally respond with an answer, all hands-free. My smartphone does this on it's own so why shouldn't I be able to do this over the Bluetooth system on our 2013 Lexus? The "tech" guy at the dealership has not been helpful.

they'll have it in a couple more years. mb even in the 2015 model run. Can't give people too much at once, else how are they going to maximize profit off of each technology baby- step?
