Are you happy with your Lexus Premium Stereo
I can't say that I'm totally satisfied with the Lexus premium stereo in my ES 350. It has muddy sound when playing XM in my opinion. The CD player sounds shallow and it really should have a 6 CD changer. It does however sound great playing pandora. I still have a 2003 ES which has the Lexus premium stereo and it is amazing. I expect better from Lexus.

Did you by chance explore the stereo before purchasing this car?
To me the system is adequate for my needs.
Since my media needs don't include CD's, having room for one or six isn't an issue.
I knew this upfront.

Is this yet another Mark Levinson thread?

Lexus Champion
I think Lexus should sell their cars without any sound system and let buyers get their own after purchase.
I have an Audi and their upgraded system is Bang & Olufsen. There are the same conversations going on over on Audi forums. It's great, it stinks etc.

Many years ago one could delete the radio when buying a new car. Then manufacturers eliminated this because they were losing money to aftermarket suppliers. The aftermarket suppliers sued and won. Then the manufacturers configured the dash so that aftermarket radios wouldn't fit without major modifications. That brings us to today... Wish it were still so Lexbob...

I had an ES 350 loaner vehicle for three days with the standard premium sound system. I thought it was pretty good at normal volume levels. All it needs to really enhance it for anyone who wants to listen at high volume levels and have better quality sound is the addition of of quality subwoofer as some have already done. I think it is actually a pretty good system.
(but, the ML is far superior.)

I'd give it a 7/10. At high volumes it distorts. Especially on bass heavy songs. One thing I love is the surround setting. Takes away the lifeless sound that my previous car had. But with the sub I added, it's a 8/10.
