Default 700+ Mile Club

Finally broke the 700 mile tank barrier with 753 miles, 45.7 mpg average (as calculated from the vehicles computer). Driven mostly in Sport mode, probably 70/30 city/highway driving.

(South Florida is a great area for getting exceptional fuel economy with hybrids because of the flat roads, warm temperatures and hybrid friendly speed limits.)

Have a really high mileage tank? Feel free to post your results here.

MrBillFL, I am in North Broward and there is virtually no stop and go traffic here. Although, if you are in stop and go traffic with the air conditioner off, fuel economy should not be an issue.

AC off. ROTFL!

North Broward, like pompano/deerfield? All surface streets? or you jump on I95 during rush hour?

fwiw, I'm in boca, commuting to downtown FLL during rush hour..
during the week commuting, I'm too fast to engage EV mode much.. but still watch the graphics. and try to coast.

yes Pompano area and no, I typically stay off of I-95 for my commute as it doesn't save me any time. Where are you?

I live in San Francisco and with the hills, seems like I should do OK, but it takes some extra gas to get up the hill before you can coast. I am always pressing the EV button, but can't seem to keep it on long enough to get the MPG's up near 40. With 1200 miles, currently averaging 37.1 with 50/50 freeway/street on a 12 mile one way commute. BUT I think that is great vs my 08 GS350 that averaged 16.5 on the same roads... I miss the folding mirrors though..
